Five Poems for Cape Hatteras - Summer Solstice 1985 |
|
Rain dances to the beat of
Wind Drum; Lightning flashes
and I tremble. |
Sun Hawk gliding over
Ocean, Horus Hawk
has caught himself a fish! |
|
Coquinas turned ass-end to meet the sky, your
multi-color antics make us laugh! |
Heat rises from the moss-grown plain. Striped lizards
hide in fox glove. |
Night Ocean beating wave upon wave into my brain, creates there unutterable stillness; black silence of a thousand glittering stars!
